Food And Necessities Drive

Description

The NC Fall Food and Necessities Drive started October 26 and will be going through Sunday, November 11.  We are serving more families each year, so anything that can be donated is greatly appreciated!

Mission: We are asking that teachers encourage encourage their first period students to donate any food or necessities they can spare in effort to help us give back to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and our very own NC Food Pantry.  Our NC families and community truly rely on this food and necessities driveand it wouldn't be possible without each and every one of you!

Collection Process: Each first period teacher will has been given an empty box.  The box will remain in the classroom for the duration of the drive to hold donated items collected from students.  Leadership students will then be around during 6th period each day to collect the donated items. Because we don't have 1st or 6th period on Tuesdays, collections will not happen that day.

Competition: This is a first period competition and a class competition.  The winning first period will receive donuts. The classes will be separated into two teams based on current class points (the first team will consist of 7th/8th graders, freshmen, and seniors and second team will consist of sophomores and juniors); the classes on the winning team will each receive 175 points.  I will send out weekly emails informing staff of the top five staff in the lead.

Store Front Locations: Leadership students will be standing in front of the of the Yokes on Indian Trail, Grocery Outlet (on Division, Downtown, and in the Valley on various days) and My Fresh Basket in Kendall Yards over the course of the two weeks.  If you have any students interested in working a store front, please sent them to room N209.

Items Wanted: Snack foods like granola bars and fruit snacks, cereal, cup of noodle, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned goods, chapstick, feminine products, deodorant, toilet paper, etc.

Goal: The goal is to collect 20,000 items!!

Thanks, as always, for all the support!
