At Spokane Public Montessori we would like to honor our student’s birthdays with a service
project in lieu of bringing a treat to share in the classroom. Each month a different organization
will be represented in our building and children celebrating a birthday who want to bring
something to share are encouraged to bring an item on the wish list of the organization
honored during their month. The donation basket will be in the front entryway and at the end
of the month the donations will be delivered in honor of our birthday students. We will also set
up a special birthday table in the cafeteria for birthday students to sit at on their birthday.
We ask that you do not send any type of treat to the classroom to celebrate birthdays or
holidays to help support our efforts for healthy minds and bodies and to be in compliance with
the district’s healthy snack policy. For more information about this policy please see our
website or ask your child’s teacher.
Clicking on the organization honored during the
month of your child’s birthday will take you to their wish list. Thank you in advance for your generosity. We hope this
tradition in our school is a meaningful experience for you and your children.
