• Highly Capable Programming Options by Level

     
    The district will make a variety of appropriate services available to students who participate in the Highly Capable program.  Once services are started, a continuum of services will be provided to identified students, Kindergarten through 12th grade.  These services may include accelerated course work, classroom grouping, independent study, enrichment, and college partnerships.

  • Highly Capable Program Parent/Guardian Permission to Assess Form

     
     
    Parent/Guardian permission must be obtained in writing before conducting assessment to determine eligibility for participation in programs for highly capable students.  Nominees identified for further testing through the screening process will be assessed using multiple objective criteria, from a wide variety of sources.  Instruments may include: Cognitive Abilities Test and/or screener, Teacher Checklists, Parent Information forms, and other valid assessments.  Test results will be recorded in the student's education record.  Please complete and return to the Highly Capable building leader at your child's school.

  • Nomination Form for the Highly Capable Program

     
     
    Referrals are permitted and accepted based on data or evidence from teachers, other staff, parents, students, and members of the community.  Nominators will use the district's nomination form to refer a student to be considered for admission in the program.  Nominated students will be screened to determine if students qualify for further assessment.  Please submit completed nomination forms to the Highly Capable building leader at your child's school.
