Each year the Spokane School District is required by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), under the AHERA Regulations (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act), to notify employees, parents and other interested groups if there is asbestos located in their school. This is our annual notification that there is asbestos in our school. Please be assured that all the asbestos is either in a nonpublic area or is well encapsulated. It is the District’s intent that all asbestos materials are kept in a safe, well-maintained condition through a program of Periodic Surveillance and ongoing maintenance activities. All of the asbestos records for your school are kept in the Asbestos Management Plan which is located in the Head Custodians office. If you have questions contact Facility Services at 354-7171.
